Session to examine how college campuses and large enterprises can leverage flow data to stay ahead of evolving network and security threats

LONDON, April 12, 2011 - Infosecurity Europe — Lancope, Inc., a leader in flow-based security,
network and application performance monitoring, and higher education
customer, Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam (GLR), will present at Infosecurity
Europe on April 20, 2011, at Earl's Court in London. Lancope and GLR will
show attendees how they can leverage flow data from their existing
infrastructure to cost-effectively minimise risk and reduce downtime for
massive, widely-distributed networks such as college campuses and large,
global enterprises. For GLR, a single day of downtime represents a
significant cost impact to the university, so maintaining effective control
over the network is crucial.

"Much like large, global enterprises, colleges and universities struggle
with the balance of delivering powerful infrastructure to enable high
productivity while still protecting users and assets from network
performance, privacy and security risks," said Mark Pleunes, network manager
at Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam. "By analysing sFlow(R) from our network
infrastructure, Lancope gives us a clear view of what is happening on the
network, enabling us to maintain secure, high-performance networks."

Lancope's StealthWatch delivers comprehensive network visibility across
physical and virtual environments by leveraging flow data from existing
routers and switches. The system eliminates network blind spots, cuts costs
and dramatically reduces the time from problem onset to resolution. GLR has
experienced a hardware, software and maintenance cost savings of 75 percent
by choosing StealthWatch over other monitoring solutions.

StealthWatch is scalable to meet the needs of even the largest networks,
analysing up to 1.5 million flows per second. In addition to flow-based
monitoring and anomaly detection, the system features advanced capabilities
such as application and identity awareness to further expedite
troubleshooting and ensure that users always have access to the resources
they need. Alongside detecting externally-launched attacks that bypass
perimeter defences, StealthWatch can also uncover risky, unwanted internal
behaviors such as excessive P2P file sharing, as well as help organisations
comply with regulations such as PCI.

"GLR's infrastructure is typical of many networks that we see today,"
said Adam Powers, CTO at Lancope. "As a media and design school, GLR must
maintain high availability for advanced software programs, as well as support
thousands of dispersed devices and users in an open, collaborative
atmosphere. Unlike traditional network and security tools, which become
cost-prohibitive, resource-intensive and extremely complex to manage in this
type of environment, StealthWatch leverages NetFlow, sFlow and other flow
data to enable large organisations to seamlessly stay ahead of threats to
network performance and security without jeopardising productivity."

Infosecurity Europe will bring together more than 12,500 security
professionals and 300 solution providers at Earls Court in London. The
Lancope and GLR presentation, "How to Monitor Network Performance & Security
on the College Campus," will take place in the Technical Theatre on
Wednesday, April 20 at 4:00 pm BST. More information on the presentation can
be found at www.infosec.co.uk/page.cfm/action=Seminars/SeminarID=68.
Lancope will also exhibit the StealthWatch System at Booth B29.
