Launching Two New Models in Busworld Kortrijk 2011, KINGLONG Accelerates the Pace Into the EU Market

KORTRIJK, Belgium, October 21, 2011 -

The Bi-annual Busworld Kortrijk makes its opening ceremony in Belgium on Oct. 20, 2011. This is the fourth time that KINGLONG, a renowned Chinese bus and coach manufacturer has participated. KINGLONG officially releases two new models to the European market: XMQ6120AGD, a three-door low-floor city-bus and XMQ6129Y, an HD (High Deck) luxury coach for long-distance journeys.

As one of the largest bus and coach manufacturers and exporters in China, KINGLONG took the lead in entering the EU market in 2005 and currently has 8 models covering public transportation, tourism and long-distance transportation which have been approved by EU WVTA. Today the release of these two new models manifests their catering to the needs of EU clients and the determination of accelerating their pace into the EU market.

Deng Hongfei, the director of KINGLONG said: “The latest released models XMQ6120AGD and XMQ6129Y, are developed in accordance with European Whole Vehicle type approval and all the features have been included to meet market demand, adopting the state-of-the-art and environmentally-friendly technology materials, thus they have been designed to provide better operation efficiency to public transportation service providers and offer a more comfortable driving and riding experience to drivers and passengers.”

Mr. Samuel Zhu, the vice president in charge of the sales and marketing of KINGLONG said: “EU market is huge, and clients from different regions and industries are various on their demands. Therefore we take a deep insight into the customized needs of EU clients and promote various products based on every market segment so as to meet and satisfy more clients’ needs. This is the core strategy of KINGLONG towards the EU market. Among EU countries, the three-door, low-floor city-bus is the mainstream product and the promotion of XMQ6120AGD enhances the adaptability of KINGLONG bus into new EU markets. However XMQ6129Y, an upgraded model of XMQ6127 tourist coach, has improvements made in performance efficiency and value, and is mainly designed for tourism and long-distance passenger transportation markets in the EU.”

As leader of the Chinese bus and coaches in the overseas market, KINGLONG has proved itself in accelerated pace in expanding to the international market in recent years. KINGLONG has covered Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe and South America and altogether supplied more than 200,000 buses and coaches to over 8,000 transportation service providers in over 80 countries and regions worldwide.

Though the EU is not the largest international market for KINGLONG, in Samuel Zhu’s opinion, it is an important strategy to constantly expand within the market. First, the EU is the most developed globally in the bus and coach industry and their accessories industry applies the strictest standard, thus offering service designed to EU clients can drastically improve the technology and quality of KINGLONG products; secondly, entering the EU market is prominent in upgrading product image and promoting sales in other markets.

With 7 years of efforts, taking a lead among all Chinese bus and coach manufacturers, KINGLONG has made great achievements in the EU market and showed rising tendency. Recent sales reveal the momentum of KINGLONG in expanding the EU market. In 2009, the number of buses and coaches exported to the EU was 131 and in 2010 reached 235; from January to September of 2011, the total was 377, 160% of the total number in 2010. Mr. Samuel Zhu predicts that the annual export volume to the EU will exceed 500, an increase of 100% compared with the same period last year.

Though the expansion is remarkable, KINGLONG is still on the learning curve. Mr. Samuel Zhu said: “We will not deny nor fear the gap, for we will take a positive attitude to participate and learn the advanced bus and coach-making technology and experience from European counterparts so that we can continuously improve our technology.”

As to the future performance of KINGLONG in the EU market, Mr. Samuel Zhu was confident: “We have established a relatively good marketing channel and service network in the EU, through which we can obtain stable orders and gradually expand marketing scope. In addition, the cooperation with ARRIVA strengthens the confidence of our company in the EU market. Now we are negotiating with other transportation corporations in the EU, so the future development of KINGLONG in the EU is worth expecting.” Meanwhile Mr. Samuel Zhu also revealed that KINGLONG is planning to step into the North American market to cover six continents instead of the five at present, thus realizing the goal of “globalization”.
