A Mutually Beneficial Relationship Has Been Forged Between Treepodia and M.A.D. Productions to Further Drive Conversions for Clients' E-Commerce Sites
SOUTHAMPTON, England, May 26, 2010 - M.A.D. Productions, a prominent UK based e-commerce company, and
Treepodia Ltd., the internationally leading video platform provider, are
pleased to announce their recent partnership.
The relationship came about after Onlinegolf, an established client of
M.A.D., decided to implement the Treepodia smart video platform to more
effectively showcase its products in order to provide a more user-friendly
shopping experience and ultimately, increase conversion rates.
Onlinegolf experienced an immediate increase in sales and was extremely
satisfied with both the smart video platform and the overall service provided
by Treepodia. Straight away, the online retailer was able to see measurable
results from the addition of video, most strikingly an 85% increase in the
conversion rate for people viewing a product video.
Based on these results and the recommendation of the client, both
Treepodia and M.A.D. recognized the mutual benefits of their services.
According to Simon Peirson, UK Director for Treepodia "As both Treepodia
and M.A.D. are strong forces in the world of e-commerce, providing different
services with a similar end-goal (i.e. bringing more business to our
clients), this is an obvious strategic partnership that benefits all parties
involved."
"The Treepodia offering matches our needs perfectly," reiterated Darren
Bull, Owner of M.A.D. "We are now able to work together to help our clients
increase traffic, organic search results and ultimately conversion rates with
the implementation of the smart video platform."

They’re trying to sue me for slander. Read on… They told us that they are producing excellent results by giving us reports showing that more people who watched the videos bought those products than those who didn’t watch the videos. The problem with this reasoning is that correlation does not equal causation, and that anyone planning on buying a product will probably view all the available content for that product before buying it. When I pushed them, they claim to have finally set up an A/B test where people are only shown videos some of the time (I have never seen this A/B test in action, as every time I look at the products, they always have the videos available, but I digress). When they showed me the real results after using the supposed A/B test for a while, their claims were far less impressive. I still looked like there was a slight increase, according to their data, but Google Analytics actually shows a decrease in conversion rate and total sales on our site ever since we first implemented their code. They are threatening to sue me right now b/c I told a few of their customers that I haven’t seen any positive results from their service in a year of using them. It was actually 6 months (I couldn’t remember how long it had been, and it was late), but still, their service doesn’t appear to be of much use. They are now claiming that I slandered them. I also inadvertently told some of their other customers that there was a security certificate error message popping up when certain of Treepodia’s code was used on a secure page. I thought that these were former customers b/c I didn’t see the Treepodia code running on those sites, but it turns out that there were technical reasons for me not seeing it, while it was actually there (so they are current customers). Actually, there were two different kinds of error messages coming up in various browsers. Our particular problem with these errors was partially to do with the way I implemented their code, and partially not (as I verified that the same errors could be produced by visiting https:// versions of their other customers’ sites). They said that they fixed the error after they found out about it, so this may no longer be a problem. Regardless, they’re trying to bully me into writing back to all of these customers with a letter about how great Treepodia is or else they’re going to sue me. Tal Rubencrack (or whatever his name is) actually said to me “This is not a game” or some crap like that. He’s trying to intimidate me into giving them a good review now b/c he says I ruined their reputation. If you’re a Treepodia customer, I would recommend contacting all of their other customers you can find and asking them how they feel Treepodia has done for them. I already did, and I got responses. I’m not going to mention any of them b/c I don’t want Treepodia suing any more of their customers, but you might want to find out for yourself what their other customers think, if you’re not sure Treepodia is actually helping your company. |
