Molecular Devices to Distribute FCS Express 4 Image Cytometry Software
By Molecular Devices Inc., PRNEWednesday, May 11, 2011
SUNNYVALE, California, May 12, 2011 - De Novo Software(TM), a leading provider of flow and image cytometry data
analysis solutions, and Molecular Devices, a provider of premier bioresearch
and drug discovery systems, announced today a licensing agreement enabling
Molecular Devices to distribute De Novo Software's flagship product, FCS
Express 4 Software. This supports full compatibility with the ImageXpress
Velos(R) Cytometer (formerly IsoCyte Laser Scanning Cytometer)
(tinyurl.com/6lylbn7), and a module for High Content Analysis.

Under the terms of the agreement, Molecular Devices will distribute the
FCS Express 4 Image Cytometry Software to customers in the research and
pharmaceutical markets worldwide. The FCS Express 4 Software can natively
import ImageXpress Velos Cytometer data, for seamless visualization of
multi-parametric results and corresponding images. The software also has
unique integrated report generation tools pioneered by De Novo Software.
Leveraging a long history of excellence in Flow Cytometry data analysis,
De Novo Software launched FCS Express 4 Image Cytometry in January of 2011.
The new software adds the ability to access and interactively perform
population-based analysis, while linking back to the individual images that
underlie the data. This enables highlighting of individual cells in an image
from selected populations or display of single cells of interest in separate
cell galleries. These tools significantly improve assay development,
workflow, and enable rapid report generation.
David Novo, De Novo Software's president said, "This is an ideal
collaboration and business relationship, providing mature analysis and
reporting tools for the ImageXpress Velos Cytometer and Molecular Devices
imaging customers."
"Molecular Devices is delighted to work with De Novo Software to
streamline the acquisition, analysis and reporting of high content data,
enabling researchers to more easily interpret trends within complex data
sets," says Jennifer McKie, Senior Marketing Director, BioImaging Products at
Molecular Devices.
In FCS Express 4 analytical tools for flow and image cytometry and High
Content Screening are combined into one environment with report generation
and on-line collaboration tools.
Michael Sjaastad, Director of Business Development at De Novo Software
commented, "This product fills a void in the cellular imaging market. There
is real need for a common platform to aggregate data and images that
facilitates complex analysis and reporting. We look forward to building upon
this relationship to provide a general platform for data analysis and report
generation used by scientists worldwide."
De Novo Software distributes software directly and through strategic
partners, and will expand their distribution network in the imaging market.
Customers will be able to purchase FCS Express through the Molecular Devices
sales force, website and catalog.
