The Business School at Danube University Krems in Austria has developed a management program specially geared towards the requirements of companies participating in the European emissions trading scheme. Participants receive comprehensive training in a complex field that requires many different skills. All relevant topics from trading with energy and CO2 certificates to legal framework conditions and lobbying are covered in the course. The innovative MBA program starts on 23 November 2009.
The European emission trading scheme is an instrument of the EU established to meet the Kyoto targets. It commits energy-intensive businesses to reducing their emissions of carbon dioxide to the limits covered by their emission allowances. In the European Union more than 12,000 plants are covered under this scheme. In order to utilise the emission trading obligation in the best possible way for the sustainable success of the business, knowledge of the flexible mechanisms and strategic options in emission trading as well as in CO2 portfolio management is vital.
Course provides comprehensive know-how
The new Danube Professional Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), specialising in Energy and Carbon Management offered by Danube University Krems introduces participants to the basic principles and the legal framework conditions of the Kyoto process and of energy and CO2 management.
