ROTTERDAM, Netherlands and ROME - Nimbuzz Announces Commercial Deal With Giovani.it Providing
Social Network Community With Real Time Web and Mobile Communication
Nimbuzz (www.nimbuzz.com) and Giovani.it today announce a
revenue-sharing partnership. Giovani.it (published by Banzai spa), the
biggest Italian-speaking social networking community portal with over 2
million active members, that integrates the Nimbuzz technology into its
existing site, bringing real-time web and mobile communication capabilities
to members for the first time.
The announcement follows a similar deal in November with StudiVZ, the
biggest German-speaking social networking site and strengthens an important
part of Nimbuzz’s commercial distribution model; partnering with established
local online communities to increase user adoption and viral spread. The
partnership with Giovani.it sees Nimbuzz entering a revenue sharing agreement
with income generated from adverts sold as part of the social networks’ own
advertising opportunities.
After successful beta testing, web and mobile chat is now available for
all Giovani.it members. Nimbuzz branded webchat, hosted on Giovani.it,
enables IM conversations among all community members. The full Nimbuzz
portfolio including VoIP calls and file-sharing across popular instant
messaging communities will soon follow.
The new features will be promoted to members across the social network
Giovani.it, and sister portals Studenti.it and Girlpower.it, via on-site
advertising, links to a bespoke download page, and newsletters and blogs.
Nimbuzz CEO Evert Jaap Lugt: “Partnering with Giovani.it is the perfect
way for Nimbuzz to achieve a strong Italian brand and quickly generate new
users. Strategic deals such as this also strengthen our advertising
proposition as we become an integral part of an active and social community.”
Luca Lani, head of media area Banzai spa: “Integrating Nimbuzz gives our
members instant access to a popular web chat client plus enriches our
community experience online and away from the PC with none of the development
time or costs associated. Importantly it also opens up new ad-revenue
opportunities for us as our users will now spend significantly more time on
our site exploring the new communication features.”
