LONDON, September 6, 2011 -

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) will be participating in the Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEi) exhibition where it will demonstrate its leading capabilities as a systems integrator in Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), security and resilience technology, unmanned ground systems, cyber security and naval navigation and control solutions.

DSEi is the world’s largest biennial land, sea and air defence and security exhibition, bringing together senior international trade and military experts from across the entire supply chain. The exhibition and conference will take place at ExCel in London from 13-16 Sept. 2011. Northrop Grumman will be exhibiting at stand number N6-329, North Hall.

Northrop Grumman will highlight a cross-section of its international defence and security solutions with equipment, displays and presentations of technologies available for viewing. In addition to its exhibit stand, the company is taking part in the Waterborne Demonstrations where it will demonstrate the application of its tactical command and control systems and its capabilities in linking together multiple assets in a maritime environment, and in the Robotics and Unmanned Systems Showcase where it will demonstrate its unmanned ground vehicle capabilities.

“We have strong, well established UK capabilities and provide a broad range of advanced technology solutions for defence and security applications for customers in the UK and around the world”, said Sir Nigel Essenhigh, Chairman, Northrop Grumman UK. “A significant part of our UK business is derived from export markets and we look forward to the opportunity to demonstrate our technologies and products not only to our UK customers but also to the many international delegations visiting DSEi”.

The Northrop Grumman exhibit will include a range of its command and control capabilities for applications from strategic headquarters to deployed foot soldiers’ situational awareness tools. On display will be the integrated command and control framework (IC2F) which delivers command and control and situational awareness across the battlespace through the combined capabilities of the Integrated Tactical Command and Control Services (I-TaCCS) and Integrated Joint Operational Command and Control Services (I-JOCCS). The core software components of I-TaCCS are in service in more than 40 countries with 100,000 users offering multi-national interoperability.

The exhibit will also include Pinpoint, a tactical handheld C2 system providing enhanced situational awareness for use on PDAs, smartphones and tablet PCs.

Northrop Grumman UK is providing the JOC C4ISR capability for the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). This includes the supply of a C4ISR headquarters system and a deployable JOC together with training and in-country support.

Highlighted will be Northrop Grumman’s capabilities in cyber security and the federated cyber security test range with its application for resilience testing of large scale networks, cyber diagnostics, cyber team training and support to cyber research and development.

The exhibit will feature the company’s man-portable capability for the monitoring of Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) incidents and the collection and handling of related data. The Integrated Tactical Rapid Assessment of CBRN Environments (I-TRACE) system facilitates decision support and enhances situational awareness and information sharing among emergency response organizations. Access to information including source and analysed data is provided to users through a web portal. I-TRACE requires no specialist vehicle installation and can be rapidly deployed using existing “blue light” emergency services vehicles.

Unmanned ground systems on display will be the Wheelbarrow Mk 9 large unmanned ground vehicle and the versatile Caliber T5 robot. The Wheelbarrow Mk 9 is the enhanced version of Northrop Grumman’s industry-leading Wheelbarrow vehicle for the remote handling of hazardous threats including bomb disposal, tactical and surveillance operations. Designed, developed and manufactured in the U.K. by Northrop Grumman at its facility in Coventry, the Mk9 vehicle includes a range of advanced technology and performance features for civil and public security applications.

Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit will display a selection of marine navigation, ship control and coastal surveillance solutions including the VisionMaster FT Integrated Bridge and Platform Management System.

The VisionMaster FT Integrated Bridge System with Warship Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (WECDIS) solution was recently selected by the Royal Navy for the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers.

On display also will be the SeaGuard X-Band Coherent Radar (XBCR) designed specifically for use in highly cluttered environments, such as the littorals will be highlighted.  SeaGuard has the ability to detect small, fast moving targets and it is this performance that also allows the SeaGuard to be used in coastal surveillance and harbour protection.

Northrop Grumman’s Maritime Systems business unit will feature the latest Mod 4 version of the MK 39 inertial navigation solution. The company is a world leader in the manufacturing of naval gyrocompasses and inertial navigation systems. The MK 39 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) with inertial navigation provides both high accuracy geographic position information, with or without GPS, and precise attitude and heading data for fire control stabilization and weapons initialization.

Northrop Grumman’s Park Air Systems ground-to-air radios for ground based VHF and UHF communication needs for civil and military air traffic control will be highlighted. The PAE T6 MDR offers a versatile range of software programmable radios while the PAE M7 VHF/UHF software defined multimode radios deliver voice and data communications capabilities for fixed site, naval and transportable applications in normal and secure modes.
