LONDON -

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) is participating in the Seoul International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition 2009 where it will highlight the company’s global security capabilities and programmes, including its world leading expertise in fire control radars, infrared countermeasures and unmanned aircraft systems.

The Seoul International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition takes place 20-25 October at Seoul Airport in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, Korea. The Northrop Grumman chalet is located at CH30 and the exhibit stand is located at D14 in the exhibit hall. A full-scale model of Northrop Grumman’s Global Hawk unmanned aircraft system will be located in the static display area.

“We have strong, well-established business relationships across the region and participating in the Seoul Airshow provides us with an opportunity to continue our dialogue not just with our customers, but also with other key stakeholders,” said Keith Young, vice president and country manager for Korea for Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems International. “We have considerable capabilities to offer and our objective is to continue to work closely with our customers to provide long-term solutions and help enhance defence and national security across the region.”

Among the exhibits featured by Northrop Grumman will be two of its industry-leading Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) programmes. As the most advanced airborne surveillance sensor of its kind, the MESA provides unmatched peninsular protection and enables sophisticated air-to-air and maritime coverage and integrated friend-or-foe identification. A briefing and computer demonstration of MESA capabilities will be available.

Other programmes highlighted will be directional infrared countermeasures (DIRCM); the LITENING advanced airborne targeting and navigation pod; the Scorpion unattended ground surveillance system; and the Longbow Apache radar and Longbow Hellfire missile system.

On display will be the company’s range of state-of-the-art fibre-optic navigation positioning systems. These will include the LISA-200, the Navex family of attitude heading reference systems and LN 251 / LN 270 high accuracy inertial navigation systems. These are manufactured by Northrop Grumman Italia and are in service on aircraft platforms in the U.S., Europe and Asia and are fitted to the Eurofighter Typhoon, the Tornado and BAE Systems Hawk.

Also highlighted will be Northrop Grumman’s unmanned aircraft capability including the MQ-8B Fire Scout vertical take-off and landing unmanned aerial vehicle (VTUAV) and the RQ-4 Global Hawk high altitude, long endurance unmanned aircraft system, as well as the E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS), the most advanced targeting and battle management system in the world, and the Airborne Laser Mine Detection System (ALMDS).

On display will be Northrop Grumman’s internationally exportable family of battle proven command and control systems. Included at the booth will be the International Joint Mission Planning System (IJMPS), the Integrated Battle Management System (iBMS), the Command and Control on PC (C2PC) and the Interoperable C4I Services (ICS) system.
