LONDON, February 23 - The recent case of reputable financial advisors Towry Law has brought to
light the practice of legacy 'trail commissions' continually being paid by
investors without providing any further financial advice. As reported in The
Daily Mail and on the Money Marketing website last year, Independent
Financial Advisors (IFAs) have been making substantial legacy commissions on
products they sell, including:

    - Life insurance policies
    - Investment Bonds,
    - Equity-based ISAs
    - Personal Equity Plans (PEPs),
    - Unit Trusts,
    - Investment Trusts.

These commissions can continue for as long as the money is invested, even
if the IFA is no longer in touch with the client.

In November 2009 it was widely reported that Towry Law make over GBP6m
annually from customers with whom they have no current contact .The sums
involved can make a huge difference to individuals, as the Daily Mail
reported that Phil Graham had been paying over GBP4,000 annually from his
pension pot for nothing.

Fortunately there is now a way for clients in this position to recoup at
least some of this commission. Active Insurance & Mortgage Services Ltd,
offer a new service where they will share on a 50:50 basis any trail
commissions they receive if the investor transfers the management of their
investments to them.

The process is surprisingly straightforward and could be a valuable boost
to many people's finances in these volatile times.

Peter Metcalfe says: "If you have a good I.F.A who is looking after your
investments properly, you should stay with them. However, a lot of people are
not receiving an efficient service or being given good advice. If you feel
that this is the case, why should you be paying these wealth-sapping charges
and getting nothing in return?"

"I would urge everyone to look at their portfolio of investments and
insurance products and work with us at www.trailcommissonrebates.co.uk
to check whether these trail commission charges are being levied. After all,
it is your money!"
