LONDON, October 29, 2010 - Portaltech are thrilled to announce that we have won a second award for
the L.K.Bennett website/re-platform.
Retail Systems bestowed the award for 'Best SME Retailer' to L.K.Bennett
& Portaltech, at a glamorous ceremony held at the Grosvernor House Hotel,
Park Lane. Kate Smyth, Director of eCommerce, Erin Bishop, eCommerce Manager
at L.K.Bennett and Rachel Wilkinson, Head of Brand & Retail at Portaltech
collected the award. Says Smyth: "We are really delighted to have received
the award for lkbenett.com at the Retail Systems Awards. We are
incredibly proud of the site and thrilled that the relaunch earlier this year
has had such a fantastic response, both from our customers and from the
industry."
Portaltech won the pitch to re-platform, integrate and implement
L.K.Bennett's website in October '09. Due to ambitious timelines, this
project was implemented on QuickLive, Portaltech's rapid multi-channel
platform, built on hybris. Portaltech worked closely with multiple 3rd party
providers including 10CMS for Interactive merchandising and Pod1 for design,
to integrate and execute the website in a challenging time frame of only 12
weeks. The new website relaunched at the end of January 2010.
Says Andrew Walker, CEO of Portaltech: "L.K.Bennett are reaping multiple
awards and nominations for their website currently, because they are fully
utilising and exploiting their QuickLive platform in a creative and forward
thinking manner to deliver a superior experience to their luxury shoppers.
L.K.Bennett understood the importance of integrating best of breed
technologies to deliver a rich and engaging experience. Interactive modules
showcase product and outfits in a stylish and creative way, that is totally
on brand and enhances the user journey."
The L.K.Bennett website has exceeded all expectations to date. As well as
reaping two awards, from Retail Systems and IMRG eCommerce Awards for
Excellence, the site has also generated staggering improvements: Net sales
have increased by 103% YOY in the first 5 weeks, conversion has increased by
100% and the customer usability and experience has substantially improved.
Kate Smyth, Director of eCommerce at L.K.Bennett, said:
"The timelines for this project were exceptionally tight, so it took
absolute commitment from all the teams involved to produce the final high
quality site. The response has been incredible, from the increases we've seen
in trading to the feedback from our customers. As an eCommerce team, we have
been really thrilled with how straightforward the platform is to use and we
are really benefiting from the management we now have over our online
presence."
