QS World University Rankings(R) 2010: Hong Kong Universities Show Strong Performance in Engineering and Technology

- 4 Hong Kong universities in top 100 for engineering and technology;
HKUST ranked 26 in the world
- 3 Hong Kong universities in top 100 for life sciences & medicine,
natural sciences, and social sciences & management
- Oxford tops the table for arts and humanities, MIT for engineering and
technology, Cambridge for natural sciences, and Harvard for both life
sciences and medicine, and social sciences and management
- 50 countries represented in the overall Top 500;
QS World University Rankings(R) subject tables are based on an academic
survey completed by 15,050 academics, including 700 university leaders, who
were asked to identify the universities producing the best research in their
own field of knowledge and within their region of expertise. The overall
rankings also take into account employer reputation, research strength and
teaching and international commitment.
