LONDON, October 4, 2011 -
Real Music On-Demand now comes with Personalised Recommendations and Social Discovery
RealNetworks Ltd, the digital entertainment services company, and online social commerce experts, nToklo, today announced the integration of nToklo’s personalised recommendation platform and social discovery tools into RealNetworks’ white label Music On-Demand service across Europe.
Music On-Demand is a mobile entertainment platform offering a comprehensive and highly scalable digital music service to some of the world’s largest mobile operators. To date, subscribers in Europe have been able to download music tracks over the air (OTA) or to their computer - and then transfer that music across their mobile phone, PC, tablet, netbook, and MP3 player. However, with the introduction of nToklo’s suite of products, users of the Music On-Demand service will now benefit from the addition of highly relevant, personalised music and artist recommendations.
nToklo’s sophisticated algorithms and data tracking techniques will enable Music On-Demand users to tap in to their online social communities allowing them to share their own opinions whilst, at the same time, viewing the recommendations and reviews of their online peers.
“We are delighted to be partnering with nToklo in Europe to enhance our overall white label music service experience. Our vision for Music On-Demand has always been to deliver a service that drives shared success with our operator partners and supports them in enhancing their brand and entertainment catalogues with a profitable, popular service,” said Ken Murphy, General Manager, RealNetworks Europe. ”RealNetworks white label music service has been helping operators to successfully deliver digital music to their subscribers, wherever they want it, whenever they want it, for many years now, but the integration of nToklo’s product suite will now help users to connect with the service in a new simple and enjoyable way, which will inevitably increase subscriber stickiness and drive revenues.”
Gareth Mee, CEO, nToklo, added, “We’re very excited about working with such a well-regarded and established brand as RealNetworks. We have some unique technology and collaborative algorithms that rely on users and community behaviour, which will help to reduce overheads and costs on curated metadata and taxonomy - a real problem across multiple content providers. In addition, it will make the content discovery process more intuitive and relevant to the end user, offering them a far more satisfactory online experience - one which they’ll be more likely to share and return to.”
