LONDON, September 21, 2010 - England Rugby star's Danny Care and Ugo Monye, and BBC Sports
Presenter Chris Hollins, support the BRUT Race for Recovery in aid of Help
for Heroes.
BRUT, the iconic men's fragrance, held a fund-raising event at
Battersea Millennium Arena on Sunday 19th September, to raise money for Help
for Heroes. In keeping with the military theme of Help for Heroes, BRUT
invited the public to put themselves through a military Personal Fitness
Assessment, to raise money for Help for Heroes.
Men and women of all fitness levels turned up throughout the
day and took the Assessment, which is two minutes of press ups followed by
two minutes of sit ups, and finally a 1.5 mile run. Qualified military
fitness instructors were present to take charge and put everyone through
their paces, ensuring there was no slacking…giving everyone present a real
feel for what it's really like to train in the military.
Rugby star Ugo Monye says, "I am pleased to be supporting this
great event, which is raising money for such a worthwhile charity. Everyone
is really enjoying the day and it is great to see that BRUT is doing such a
good job in raising money for Help for Heroes; the connection between BRUT,
for real men, and Help for Heroes, is perfect."
Participants donated a minimum of GBP10.00 to take part, all
of which went to Help for Heroes, and the fittest participant of the day won
a fully paid place on a Help for Heroes 2011 trip to the Base Camp of Mount
Everest in Nepal, joining wounded soldiers and others to help raise further
money for Help for Heroes.
Help for Heroes represents everything BRUT believes in;
determination, courage, hope in the face of adversity and luckily a sense of
humour.
