By Raymond Weil, PRNETuesday, July 20, 2010
GENEVA, Switzerland, July 21, 2010 - Grand gathering of photographic creativity, this summer, the
RW Club International Photography Competition is launching its 5th edition.
Symbol of the passionate commitment of RAYMOND WEIL
(www.raymond-weil.com/) in the domain of art and culture, this annual
event is notable for the importance of its endowment, but also for the very
active long-term support by the Brand of young artists.
Organized in partnership with major actors in photography, the
RW Club International Photography Competition has very quickly earned itself
a prominent place on the photographic scene.
The 2010 edition already up and running
Registration is open until 10 August to all professional or
amateur photographers who are members of the RW Club. Registration and the
sending in of creations are done directly on the www.raymond-weil.com
site. New for 2010, the competition has chosen an inspirational theme,
Parsifal, the Brand's emblematic collection, which is celebrating its 20th
anniversary.
The eye of a jury of experts
In the autumn of 2010, the entries will be judged by some
great names in contemporary art, since the jury will include Pierre Keller,
Director of the Cantonal School of Art in Lausanne, Yves Aupetitallot,
Director of the National Centre of Contemporary Art in Grenoble and Bruno
Delevallade, Paris and Berlin gallery owner. These references of the artistic
world will be accompanied by Olivier Bernheim, CEO & President of RAYMOND
WEIL.
A very coveted distinction
As a true sign of recognition, the RW Club International
Photography Competition will offer an endowment of US$ 15,000, as well as the
opportunity to exhibit in a famous international gallery, a display area on
the RAYMOND WEIL stand at BASELWORLD 2011 and a whole page on the Brand's
website.
The RW Club members' award
In parallel, RW Club members will be able to vote on line for
the works they prefer and so select their own winner, between 27 September
and 14 October 2010. The winning work will be displayed on the RAYMOND WEIL
stand during the next BASELWORLD and the artist will also be given a
dedicated page on the website.
An authentic artistic initiative
Through this important event, RAYMOND WEIL is underlining its
attachment to artistic creativity and harnessing its international renown to
discover young talents in contemporary photography - an exercise in
patronage, reflecting the Company's values perfectly.
