SHANGHAI, June 6, 2011 -
- Amy Zhang to Become CEO
Sky Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (Sky Solar), the world-leading PV system
developer and independent power provider, recently announced that the company
has nominated Ms Amy Zhang, the former executive of Suntech Power Holdings
Co., Ltd. as the CEO and Director of the Board Committee. Mr Su Weili,
founder and chairman of Sky Solar, will no longer hold the post as CEO.
Instead, Mr Su remains as Executive Chairman and will diversify his focus to
strategic development, downstream solar plants applications and new
technology commercialization. Furthermore, for the purpose of better
utilizing capital and financial resources from both home and abroad, and to
leverage the advantages of being close to the most developed PV production
region, the Yangtze River Delta, the company has decided to move its
headquarters from Beijing to Shanghai.
Ms Zhang is highly recognised in industry circles as an experienced
executive who has worked for world-renowned enterprises such as Deloitte,
Philips Electronics and Suntech Power. After leaving Suntech and having
received interest from several well-known companies, Ms Zhang finally decided
to join Sky Solar, a popular topic of speculation in the PV industry. Ms
Zhang said, "The reason I chose Sky Solar is that I'd like to devote myself
to the undertakings of global solar project development, financing,
investment, capital management and transfer, and the operation of PV power
stations; in other words, I would like to take on the challenge of the more
difficult aspects in the downstream market of the solar industry. I was
really moved by Mr Su Weili's spirit of dedication. It's his long-term
dedication to investment in, and development of downstream PV projects as
well as his innovative and strategic business model that attracted me. The PV
industry is one of a few high-end manufacturing industries in China, which
can lead the development of high-end products and industrial capital and
realize the objective of expanding-abroad. I am ready to take these
challenges on and create a brilliant future together with all Sky Solar
employees around the world."
Mr Su Weili, chairman of Sky Solar said, "We are pleased to have Amy join
us and lead the company as CEO. The board highly appreciates her personal
qualities, experience and professionalism in domestic and foreign financing,
merger and acquisition, and supply chain cooperation. We were impressed by
her profound financial background and positive attitude. We believe that
under her leadership, Sky Solar will definitely become prominent and
successful in the future development of the entire solar industry."
