EDINBURGH, Scotland - Travel search site Skyscanner today launched a brand new holiday search function (www.skyscanner.net/holidays) which brings together the holiday offerings of over 20 leading suppliers, including Thomas Cook, Airtours, On The Beach, Virgin Holidays and Monster Travel. From today users can now search from 35 million holidays worldwide on the Skyscanner site.

Holidays are available from all key departure points in the UK, including regional airports. Users can search by destination, duration or holiday type such as short break, ski trip or last minute deal. Users can then compare holiday options by price, board basis, hotel and star rating.

“Holiday search on Skyscanner caters for travellers who want to select a whole itinerary, rather than buy flights and hotels separately,” said Frank Skivington, Skyscanner’s Commercial VP. “This gives users complete flexibility on Skyscanner to choose and book their travel the way that suits them best, whether they want a complete holiday or prefer to book flights and hotels independently.”

Skyscanner’s holiday search functionality is being delivered in association with AffiliateFuture:

“AffiliateFuture is extremely pleased to partner Skyscanner in the development of their holiday channel,” said Giles Parnwell, Head of Travel at AffiliateFuture. “We know they have a proven track record in generating significant business for leading travel brands and we see huge growth potential for holidays sold via the site.”

Concerning the holiday packages, it is a great idea, though it is not news in general. Momondo.com already had the function, for Denmark. The next step in this area would be to make in international, not only England, in Skyscanner’s case.
