Africa’s Premier Digital Distribution Forms Strategic Alliance with Africa’s Hottest Entertainment Company For Exclusive Digital Distribution
Spinlet, Africa’s premier digital distribution service has entered into a strategic alliance with Storm 360. With this partnership, Spinlet’s technology and service will provide Storm 360 with their new digital music label Storm Digital, an exclusive platform to sell and promote their content. As an existing popular record label and entertainment company Storm 360 and Spinlet both look forward to ensuring that artist’s rights are protected while delivering their music digitally on a global level to new audiences.
“We are pleased to formally welcome Storm into the Spinlet family and work with such a talented group of musicians and business-minded individuals. Storm 360 has the African entertainment scene really dialed in, expanding into the digital space is a natural progression. This partnership has already yielded several successes for African and Nigerian artists,” says Eric Idiahi, Spinlet CEO. Storm 360 has some of Africa’s hottest stars on their artist roster, including Naeto C, Miss Jaie, Tosin Martins, YQ, Int Deejay Neptune and Yung6ix and some others soon to be announced. The Storm roster will be seen participating in Spinlet events throughout Africa at launch parties, industry nights and more. “I am excited that Storm has been working closely with the executive team at Spinlet and have found that we share the same perspectives, objectives and principles,” says Storm’s founder Obi Asika.
As Spinlet gears up to launch their service in mid-November, 2011, Storm has leveraged several of their long-term relationships throughout the world to bring an even more significant value to the Spinlet platform. “I am excited by what the future holds. As we move forward into 2012 and as Spinlet launches globally we are confident that this marriage of technology, African finance, and content are game changers, and we look forward to welcoming all labels, artists and partners onto the platform,” says Asika.
Spinlet is also working with Storm 360 to build an alliance surrounding content production, talent development, and strategic engagement. Spinlet plans to bring Storm 360 and their artists to be present at Midem and South by Southwest in 2012 by showcasing some of the top African talents at these events. The goal is to ensure the alliance raises awareness of African artists in international markets and includes them in the massive offerings globally. “I am hugely impressed by the tireless energy of the Spinlet Team led by Eric Idiahi, and it seems only right that this alliance should already be kicking in,” says Asika.
“The possibility to develop the economic opportunities for artists, labels and investors in the digital space is important. We are expecting to make several more announcements over the coming weeks bringing on board other labels, partners and content across Nigeria, Africa and globally,” says Spinlet’s CMO Mark Redgard.
