Splendid Miniature World in the Dutch Railway Museum

UTRECHT, The Netherlands, January 28 - From Friday 26 to Sunday 28 February 2010, the Dutch Railway Museum will
be hosting On traXS!, an international exhibition of model train layouts. The
finest model layouts from all over Europe are being brought to Utrecht for
this event. Many of the layouts will be on display in the Netherlands for the
first time, and several have been built specially for the On traXS! event.
Alongside Dutch layouts there will also be displays from Belgium, Germany,
France, the UK and Luxembourg.

On traXS!

After the resounding success of On traXS! 2009, a second edition was
almost inevitable. The event, which attracted over 10,000 visitors last year,
was certainly popular. And in the past year we have been working hard behind
the scenes to make the second edition even better than the first. A unique
world in miniature will be revealed amongst the Railway Museum's towering
life-sized exhibits. Visitors will be able to admire some fantastic model
layouts, in which even the smallest detail is perfectly reproduced. Some of
the layouts are so cleverly finished and lit that they are barely
distinguishable from the real thing. The builders of the layouts will be on
hand to provide information and explanations. All in all there will be
approximately 30 layouts on show, including a number of prize winners.

In addition, numerous manufacturers will also be coming to Utrecht to
show their products to the public.

Demonstrations

It goes without saying that any visit to our museum can be an educational
experience as well! During the exhibition there will be a number of
demonstrations on various modelling topics of interest to enthusiasts.

On traXS! Award

The On traXS! Award will be presented for the first time this year.
Visitors can vote for the best layout and a prize will be available for both
the winning layout and for a lucky voter.

Children

Special activities are also being arranged for children. They can earn a
Shunting Certificate and there will be a supervised handicrafts corner for
them to enjoy. The Jumbo Express will be making frequent trips in the outdoor
area.
