EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands - Today, the HollandBelgium Bid, the joint candidacy of the football associations of Belgium and the Netherlands for the 2018 or 2022 World Cup is launching the Arabic version of www.thebid.org. This means that now the entire content of the website is available in the five official FIFA languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic) and Dutch.
The HollandBelgium Bid’s website shows that, when organising the World Cup, not only will they focus on the essentials of football, namely fantastic games and great goals, but that both football associations also have other major ambitions. For example, both associations have made important contributions to incorporating football in social projects and the development of football across the globe. This is why the campaign slogan is “Together for Great Goals”.
Given The HollandBelgium Bid’s international scope and the importance of the Arab world as a region, the entire website is now available in Arabic. On www.thebid.org football aficionados can find out all about the candidacy procedure for hosting the 2018 or 2022 World Cup. If you’re a football fan, or simply interested in the potential host cities and stadia, the history of both football associations, as well as facts and figures about Belgian and Dutch football, this website is the place for you. Don’t miss the latest news on the procedure’s progress, the host cities, the stadia and everything and more on the World Cup.
The site is also meant to make it clear that the organisation of the World Cup is not only reserved to large football countries, but that Belgium and the Netherlands can play a pioneering role for other countries that want to join forces. Belgium and the Netherlands were the first two countries to jointly host EURO 2000, clearing the way for Euro 2008 (hosted by Austria and Switzerland) and Euro 2012 (will be hosted by Poland and Ukraine).
The website will be further expanded during the HollandBelgium Bid campaign.
