VIENNA, Austria -
- Casual Gaming, User-Generated Content and a Showcase for Game Developers
Casual gaming and the creative dynamism of social networking are finally united at Platogo.com. Gamers now have a free-to-use platform with simple yet catchy games they can play, create levels for and share, whereas developers have a new showcase for their games and new revenue opportunities.
Gaming trends
Browser-based casual games that are quickly grasped and played are increasingly popular, as are social networks such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter where people interact and share content.
With Platogo (PLAy TOGether Online), anyone can play casual games, effortlessly create new levels, rate them and easily share content across their networks - all activities that count towards the weekly ‘Platogo Rising Star’ contest.
“Platogo is the complete casual gaming solution for gamers and developers,” says Jakob Sommerhuber, Platogo CEO and co-founder. “Top-quality family-friendly games, intuitive interfaces, and a creative and active community.”
Showcase for game developers
Platogo is more than just a community-oriented online playground. New and established developers can publish their games, get rapid user feedback, and enjoy attractive advertising and microtransaction revenue shares.
Behind Platogo
Platogo was founded in 2008 by Jakob Sommerhuber (CEO) and Florian Landerl (CTO). After securing departure funding, they joined forces with equity partners Christoph Atteneder (CCO), Simone Haider (CMO) and Daniel Kuales (CCD) to form the core Platogo team.
Platogo brings together casual gaming, user-generated content and social networking in a solution that’s appealing to gamers and developers alike. Founded in 2008 and based in Vienna, Austria, Platogo is headed by five gaming and IT specialists, and is a TechCrunch and Mini Seedcamp Berlin 2009 winner. More at www.platogo.com
