Virgin Trains' Ticket Office Strike Planned for Friday 20 November Called Off
By Virgin Trains, PRNEWednesday, November 18, 2009
LONDON, November 19 - Virgin Trains advises all its customers that a normal service will be
provided in its ticket offices tomorrow (Friday 20 November 2009) after
union TSSA called off its planned industrial action.
The strike was abandoned after legal advice questioned the ballot
procedures.
Tony Collins, Virgin Trains Chief Executive said: "It is appalling
that our customers have been left in doubt as to whether they would be able
to buy tickets tomorrow and we are pleased that we can run our business as
normal and provide our customers with the service they expect.
"Virgin Trains station staff are working brilliantly in dealing with
increasing numbers of customers.
"It is shameful that the TSSA leadership has deliberately confused its
own members and our customers over what the dispute is about."
