AEG Power Solutions Announces New High Efficiency UPS PROTECT D. for Business-Critical Applications
By Aeg Power Solutions Gmbh, PRNETuesday, March 1, 2011
WARSTEIN-BELECKE and HANOVER, Germany, March 2, 2011 - CeBIT 2011 (hall 12/booth B66) - AEG Power Solutions (AEG PS), global
provider of premium power electronics, presents the next generation of its
successful PROTECT D. series: the new devices achieve more than 30% higher
power in comparison to conventional UPS and excel with extra-improvements in
energy efficiency. The PROTECT D. series with hot swappable baterries and
rack-optimized 2U form factor is now available.
Dedicated to protecting business-critical servers and
networks, the PROTECT D. series meets any predefined security standards with
high flexibilty: The user, for example, can choose between double conversion,
the top-level of supply security, and the energy-saving ECO and ECO+ modes.
The devices also allow for easy power management with separated output
circuits in order to prioritize certain assets and to implement special high
security zones. According to his individual needs the user can increase the
autonomy time by adding further battery modules. Automatically detected by
the UPS, they can be connected without disconnecting the PROTECT D. If
employing e.g. a PROTECT D. 1000 the user can thus extend the full load
autonomy time from 6 up to 100 minutes.
Adrian Hanslik, Channel Sales Manager DACH, AEG Power
Solutions, explains: "Today, the UPS is an integral factor in multi-level
security concepts for IT infrastructures. The PROTECT D. lives up to the
resulting requirements in many ways: With a flexible range of operating modes
our new UPS backs any predefined security level. And thanks to hot swapping
the autonomy time always adjusts to changing IT environments. The PROTECT D.
series is a well-engineered system, which convincingly puts to the balance
parameters as high-security supply, energy efficiency and reduced cost of
ownership."
High efficiency - minimized operating expenses
The ECO und ECO+ modes enhance the efficiency e.g. at night or
weekend up to 98%. An intelligent mix of those two high-efficiency modes and
the high-security double conversion option lowers the need for cooling and
avoids unneccessary energy consumption. Compared to common systems the
PROTECT D. can save approx. one thousand kilowatt-hours per year - or even
more according to the mode of application: given that one kilowatt-hour
amounts to 0,20 EUR the cost-cutting potential in this example totals 200,00
EUR.
With the progressive battery management AEG PS effectuates
additional operating cost savings. The battery lifecycle is extended e.g. by
temperature compensated charging phases. Preconfigured battery tests evaluate
the realtime performance status, which is easy to read on the multi-colour
LED. Provided with these information the users tap the battery's full life
cycle potential, instead of changing still working modules preemptively or on
a mere routine basis.
Furthermore, the user benefits from an outstanding service that AEG PS
pioneered into the market in 2010: For each battery of the PROTECT D. AEG PS
grants an extended 36 months warranty which can be activated after a short
registration on www.aegpartnernet.de.
