Having reviewed the new novel, THE HOLIDAY PARTY (A Tale of a Corporate Takeover), the Kirkus Discoveries reviewer concludes that they are. The reviewer called this suspense genre novel, “A sharply observed saga of workplace tyranny.” Kirkus Discoveries goes on to say, “A magazine’s change of ownership precipitates skullduggery, sorcery and declining ad revenue in this corporate potboiler.”

Having spent over fifty years of his life working in the advertising sales departments of major magazines and newspapers, Richard Wanderer, the author, also a member of the California Bar, had the experience and background to produce this tale.

THE HOLIDAY PARTY is a fictional suspense novel about a family-owned publishing company whose employees, used to a benevolent and caring management, suddenly find their lives dramatically changed as a publicly-owned, profit-driven media conglomerate takes over the magazine. Wanderer has relied upon his many years in the publishing business to create a composite of fascinating characters with background locales set in NYC, LA and Washington, DC. To add some “bling” to his novel, he researched the Wicca religion, and elements of it are woven into the story. Of Wicca, the Kirkus Discoveries reviewer says in pertinent part, “While Wicca, as many characters attest, is a fine religion that has nothing to do with devil worship … the publishing business is a cesspool of satanic intrigue.” THE HOLIDAY PARTY (A Tale of a Corporate Takeover), is published by iUniverse, and is available at Amazon.com (www.amazon.com/gp/product/0595521894/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&seller=) or via special order at any bookstore.
