AVEVA Announces an Important Milestone in Information Management Technology

FRANKFURT, Germany - AVEVA is proud to announce the amalgamation of its industry-leading Information Management Solution into a single brand — AVEVA NET. Complementing the existing AVEVA Plant and AVEVA Marine brands, AVEVA NET provides an integrated environment for managing the digital asset and ensuring its consistency across the complete lifecycle of the physical asset.

Utilising a common Digital Information Hub, AVEVA NET delivers a web-based, collaborative information management environment for both data and documents, supporting both the Engineer/Procure/Construct and the Operate/Maintain/Revamp phases of a plant.

Today more than 100 AVEVA customers have successful implementations around the globe using various modules of the AVEVA NET solution in plant operations and plant design, delivering quantifiable economic and quality benefits.

Following AVEVA’s approach of complete openness, AVEVA NET allows customers and system integrators to seamlessly incorporate the Digital Information Hub into their businesses. The well-known AVEVA NET Gateways have shown in many implementations that they are unrivalled in flexibility and ease of implementation. Being fully ISO 15926 compliant, these Gateways allow the capture and management of data and documents regardless of the authoring applications which created them.

Because in most operating plants the vast majority of information consists of paper documents and drawings, AVEVA answered this specific challenge by developing a set of Gateways for the data capture of paper documents. Like all AVEVA Gateways, these automatically create associations between the captured data and documents, building an information network without manual input. The captured information can then be directly validated before being navigated, retrieved and collaborated on.

In project execution AVEVA NET manages project data created in either AVEVA Plant and AVEVA Marine applications, or third party authoring tools, allowing it to be shared, collaborated on and managed to support an error-free design thereby ensuring efficient project execution and project handover.
