China Hi-Tech Fair 2009 Tracks Current Global Economic Situation

- Opportunities during the Financial Crisis for Exhibitors
The China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) is a state-level, international hi-tech event held annually in Shenzhen. It is approved by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and jointly hosted by nine government departments and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government. Since its inception in 1999, the CHTF has provided a platform for technology companies all over the world to showcase their technological achievements, exchange information, identify collaboration partners and explore business opportunities. It is one of the most influential events for high-technology sectors in China, and is reputed as the No. 1 Technology Show in China.
The CHTF 2009 will be held in the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center from Nov. 16 to Nov. 21, with a theme of “Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Development,” occupying an area of 130,000 square meters, divided into six sectors — Commercialization of Technological Innovations, Specialized Show, Forums, Special Events, Hi-tech Human and Intellectual Resource Exchange, and the Year-Round Fair. Each sector of CHTF tracks the economic situation during the current financial crisis and creates opportunities to promote economic and technological exchange and cooperation for exhibitors.
This year, the CHTF will showcase achievements of the national “Ten key industrial restructurings and revitalizations of planning”, focusing on electronic information, equipment manufacturing, automobile, shipping, iron and steel, non-ferrous metals, petrochemical, light industry, textile and logistics industries. In particular, the CHTF 2009 will highlight major achievements in the information, optoelectronics, new energy, aerospace and bio fields in the past 60 years since the founding of People’s Republic of China. In addition, the CHTF 2009 will set up “new energy and energy-saving environmental protection”, “energy-saving technologies and products,” and “environmental technologies and new energy environment-friendly vehicle” sectors, add a 3G application technologies sector in IT of CHTF, and expand the internet applications and software services venue.
Additionally, the CHTF 2009 will make an overall plan for exhibition sectors in provinces and cities based on the regional economic layout in China, and set up exhibition sectors for the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone, the Pearl River Delta, the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Zone, the Baohai Bay Rim Economic Zone, the Northeast Economic Zone, the Western Economic Zone and the Central Economic Zone.
