China’s Largest Technology Show Opens on Nov. 16

SHENZHEN, China, November 16, 2011 -
Authorized by the State Council of China in 1999, China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF for short) is held every autumn in Shenzhen. It is jointly hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Ministry of Agriculture, State Intellectual Property Office, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, and is currently the largest hi-tech show in China, the most influential state-level platform for international technological and economic exchange, reputed as the No.1 Technology Show in China.
CHTF 2011 will be held at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on Nov. 16-21. Covering an area of over 105,000m2, it comprises 6 parts including Transactions of Hi-tech Achievements, Specialized Show, Forums, super-SUPER Special Events, Hi-tech Human and Intellectual Resource Exchange and A Year-Round Fair, with “promoting international cooperation on innovation, and accelerating transformation of development mode” as the theme.
This year, it welcomes participants from 23 countries, including USA, Germany, Russia, Korea, Belgium, Hungary, Finland, Ireland, Australia, Denmark, Canada, France, Poland, Switzerland, Brazil, Israel, Columbia, Singapore, etc. Minister-level officials from Hungary, Finland, Serbia, etc. will make speeches on “Minister Forum” at CHTF 2011.
Additionally, all Chinese provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, as well as 30 colleges and universities will send their delegation to show their newest products and research achievements.
In total, over 3,000 enterprises from domestic and abroad will exhibit their products in CHTF 2011; the number of visitors in this session is up to 500,000. Almost all large technological enterprises and top scientific research organizations in China will appear, including Huawei, ZTE, Lenovo, Baidu, Tencent, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, BYD, Foxconn, Hanvon, Haier, Changhong, Skyworth, Konka, etc. Scientific research organizations include Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Peking University, Tsinghua University, etc.
CHTF 2011 will organize an “International Pavilion” in Hall 9 that will help advance the importing of high-tech products from the other countries to China. China is a huge market with vast potential, and other countries have advantages with regards to both technology and business approaches and models in the high-tech sector.
