Tata Interactive Systems (TIS) Received the Special Commendation Certificate for CSR Initiatives in the Field of Learning Disabilities

MUMBAI, India, October 22, 2010 - A pioneer and leader in e-learning solutions, Tata Interactive Systems,
was recently chosen for a Special Commendation Certificate at the Golden
Peacock Global Awards 2010. The award was presented during a ceremony at the
Hotel Radisson Blu in Lisbon, Portugal.

TIS was also invited to share a presentation on its Corporate
Sustainability initiative and strategies during the event. The presentation
shed light on the existing scenario of Learning Disabilities (LD) in India
and highlighted TIS' endeavors towards improving the scenario through
sustained efforts over the past 8 years.

TIS has been involved in the cause of LD since 2002 in various roles -
including funding and sustaining the existing LD certification clinic,
developing student-management software, spreading awareness about the cause
and, more recently, setting up the third LD certification clinic in Mumbai,
India
.

One of the major activities taken up by TIS in this initiative is
conducting the annual Tata Interactive Learning Disability Forum (TLDF) - a
platform for national and international experts in LD to meet and share
information about the latest findings in the field. Over the years, the TLDF
has evolved as a forum… from spreading awareness about LD to urging the
community to come together and help students with LD. In 2008, TIS partnered
with an LD Clinic in Mumbai, India, to conduct research on students who have
undergone the LD certification process in Mumbai. The findings of this
research shed light on several unnoticed aspects, the key one being the high
age of LD detection. This finding became the basis of the 2009 forum -
emphasizing the importance of early detection and remediation of LD in
children.

This year, the TLDF will be conducted as a 3-day workshop from 18th
November 2010
and will be focusing on setting up and operating independent LD
certification clinics in various districts across the state of Maharashtra in
India.
