- Teleste delivers state of the art Luminato Digital TV headend platform to its 100th luxury hotel
IBC — Teleste, a leading technology provider of broadband video and service platforms, today announced that it has equipped its 100th luxury hotel with the Luminato Digital TV headend platform. Luminato is a key component in larger hotel wide TV solutions, which allow hotels to address a major pain point - the digital entertainment experience in many of the world’s luxury hotels has fallen behind standards that consumers have been accustomed to at home.
“Today’s home entertainment systems often have advanced features such as Full HD, 3D, video-on-demand, and catch-up services. Sadly, many of the world’s finest hotels have not been able to match this digital experience. With Teleste Luminato, we provide the foundation for bringing digital luxury back to luxury hotels,” said Mika Kavanti, Director, Video and Broadband Solutions, Teleste.
Teleste Luminato is a highly versatile digital television headend platform that allows hotels to combine video signals from several different sources into a custom television service. Luminato can be quickly expanded with hot pluggable modules, which means that hotels can easily combine HD satellite broadcasts with interactive services, or programming from local cable companies.
The two factors that make Luminato uniquely suited for hotels are its compact size and versatility. Luminato packs the functionality of several systems into one small device that can conveniently be placed out-of-sight. The platform can be easily tailored to match the location, atmosphere and needs of even the most demanding hotels.
Originally introduced two years ago, Teleste has delivered over 1000 Luminato platforms to more than 50 countries globally. In addition to hotels, Luminato has been widely adopted by major cable TV operators. Luminato provides a multitude of interfaces such as DVB-S/S2, DVB-T/T2, DVB-C, DVB-ASI in/out, QAM, COFDM and IP within one single platform in a space of one rack unit.
Teleste is an international technology group specialized in broadband video and data communication systems and services. The group is active in two business segments, Video and Broadband Solutions and Network Services; in both fields, we are among the global leaders. In 2010 the group’s net sales totaled EUR 167,8 million and it has 30 offices world-wide. The company is listed on the NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Ltd. www.teleste.com
