NXP Software Demonstrates New Products and Concepts From HD Video Editing to High Impact 3D, Showing How Devices Makers and Service Providers can Deliver Tomorrow's Experiences Today
EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, February 11, 2011 - NXP Software is offering visitors a chance to discover "the future of
mobile multimedia today" on its stand A15, Hall 1 at Mobile World Congress
2011. The demos focus on new capabilities for mobiles such as fully-fledged
HD video editing on touchscreen devices, 3D media playback and audio
"close-ups" (ensuring individual voices are clear on video recordings).
In addition, the company is highlighting its growing range of LifeVibes
multimedia products for the Android platform. NXP Software is working closely
with Google on multimedia for Android through the Open Handset Alliance, and
will be sharing some of its unique know-how at special Android Academy
sessions, open to all interested visitors to MWC 2011.
"Mobile devices are transforming people's lives and the mobile market is
transforming too," says Peter Van de Berg, Marketing Director of NXP
Software. "There's real convergence going on now, with content available on
multiple screens - from mobile devices to the living room TV. Plus of course,
there's the massive growth of tablets and smart phones. It's changing
consumer expectations and market dynamics, and it's making multimedia
experiences an ever more valuable differentiator for device markers and
service providers."
Outstanding experiences
In particular, the LifeVibes demos at MWC highlight ways to enhance the
experience of HD and 3D content on mobile devices. LifeVibes MediaArtist,
which is being demonstrated on a touchscreen device under Android 2.3 (the
Gingerbread release), supports 720p content and a rich set of manual video
editing features, along with advanced features such as instant preview.
NXP Software's 3D software is designed to ensure mobile device makers can
offer consumers a true 3D experience, combined with a rich 3D audio effect.
Available for mobile phones and tablets, it supports all sizes and types of
3D screens, both auto-stereoscopic and active technology. Furthermore,
consumers can enjoy 2D video and YouTube content, as well as 3D Blu-ray
material.
The company will also be demonstrating Audio Zoom at MWC 2011. As more
and more people use their phones to capture video, this software provides a
way to enhance the audio quality. It allows people to "zoom in" on a specific
person who is speaking (in a similar way to zooming the image), enhancing the
intelligibility of their voice and reducing the background noise, so that the
speaker's voice is crystal clear in the video clip.
