By Digital Living Network Alliance, PRNEMonday, May 16, 2011
LONDON, May 17, 2011 - The Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) continues to lead global
discussion on the connected home. The Alliance will kick off debate on
technical solutions for consumer connectivity at the Connected Home Global
Summit 2011 (www.avrenevents.com/home.asp?Event=ConnectedHomeEU2011)
in London, presented by Avren Events May 24-26. Hands-on demonstrations of
DLNA Certified(R) products will be showcased throughout the Summit and DLNA
representatives will be on-site to judge the Connected Home Industry Awards
presented at the show.
DLNA Chairman and President Nidhish Parikh will deliver the Connected
Home Global Summit's opening address and keynote presentation. He will
discuss DLNA as a platform for enabling an interoperable environment for
sharing multimedia throughout the connected home. He will also examine
standards-based approaches for platform development and the benefits to
consumer electronics (CE) vendors, application developers and service
providers.
"DLNA's mission is to provide an experience where consumers can easily
connect and enjoy a mix of products, services and content," said Nidhish
Parikh. "True connectivity comes from the ability for content to flow across
products - regardless of manufacturer. With more than 200 member companies
worldwide, we continue to focus on the creation of a cross-industry consensus
that welcomes and benefits the entire ecosystem."
Parikh's opening address and keynote will take place the morning of
Tuesday, May 24. DLNA will also be on hand for the May 25 Connected Home
Industry Awards Gala. As a lead sponsor of the awards, DLNA will judge the
"Best Interconnected Device or Customer-Premises Equipment" and the "Most
Significant Company Contribution to Connected Home Development" award
categories.
The Connected Home Global Summit will be held at the Jumeriah Carlton
Tower in London. Additional details about the Summit can be found at
