"Don't Move… Improve!" Makes Sound Sense in Today's Market

LONDON, May 12, 2010 - Even with bank and mortgage interest rates at a historic low,
a shortage of properties for sale has kept house prices high. With 'buying
and selling' costs at approximately 6% of a property's value - that's
GBP15,000 on a property worth GBP250,000 - it makes more sense to invest
those 'dead' costs in improving your existing property.

Now, let's assume that in your GBP250,000 house you have space to add a
bathroom or shower room within the main bedroom. Working on the basis of
adding high quality sanitary ware with all the attendant costs of building
works and 'plumbing-in' for an extra shower or bathroom you would need to
spend approximately GBP 4 to 5,000.

Now this is GBP10,000 less than the cost of moving but the effect on your
house price is significant. Adding an ensuite bathroom could add an estimated
10% to the value of your property, making it worth GBP275,000.

Many people decide they want more facilities such as an ensuite shower
room, an extra bathroom or a downstairs cloakroom. But they also believe they
cannot add these in their current home because 'plumbing in' using large bore
gravity plumbing is difficult or impossible.

However help is at hand from Saniflo whose clever range of macerators and
pumps enable the installation of anything from an extra WC to an ensuite
shower room, bathroom, kitchen or utility room almost anywhere in a building
remote from a soil stack. So the need to move can be avoided along with the
costs of moving.

Don't be hemmed in by conventional plumbing! It's in the under-used areas
of houses and other buildings that Saniflo has made its greatest impact,
making it possible to add extra WC, bathroom and kitchen facilities in
situations where gravity drainage is remote or unavailable. Saniflo produce a
range of macerators for powering an extra toilet or bathroom and pumps for
pumping away waste water from a kitchen, washing machine or shower. These
unobtrusive and quiet little units take waste and water and pump it away
through small bore 22mm or 32mm pipework to a distant soil pipe or sewer.
This enables the addition of an ensuite to a bedroom with appropriate space,
an additional bathroom, a bathroom to a loft conversion or granny flat and,
as our picture shows, turning an unloved under stairs cupboard into a
convenient downstairs cloakroom.

The Sanicompact from Saniflo is a super compact WC that will
fit into tight spaces and has an integral macerator pumping system. The
unique Sanicompact fits into the tightest areas because it has the advantage
of not needing a cistern. It's the first unit to be approved for direct
connection to the mains water supply and the flush is operated by pneumatic
push-button. It can also accept wastewater from a hand-wash basin.
Sanicompact is economic with water too, using just 3.6 litres per flush and
is available from Builders' and Plumbers' merchants nationally and
