LONDON, November 11 - Eukanuba are thrilled to announce that the Bulldog, Ch Int. Ch Fin. Swe.
Est. LT Ch Black Hope Brando, will represent the UK at the forthcoming
Eukanuba World Challenge 2009 in Long Beach on 12th /13th December. The event
will be hosted the AKC/ Eukanuba National Championship 125th Anniversary
Show. Four year old Brando qualified to compete in the Eukanuba UK Champion
Stakes Final, held on 31st October, by winning at Southern Counties Canine
Association Championship Show in June 09 under Judge Mrs Gunnell Holm.

At the Champion Stakes final, Brando and his handler Glynn Payne competed
against many other top winning dogs. Brando was the highest placed dog in the
final six who met all the criteria, offering him the opportunity to represent
the UK at the third consecutive annual Eukanuba World Challenge. The UK
representative will compete in Section Three, as per the country section draw
held at the World Dog Show last month. This section will be judged by Roberto
Velez Pico
from Puerto Rico. Should Brando be fortunate enough to be one of
three dogs selected in Section 3 he will go through to the final 12 which
will be judged by world renowned Judge Frank Sabella (USA). Thus Brando and
Glynn would further be able to compete for the title Eukanuba World Challenge
Champion 2009 along with the $10,000 prize money. In addition there is $5,000
awarded to the winning country's Kennel Club.

Brando is a very international bulldog. Bred in Finland by Helena and Ari
Hyvonen
and owned by Tarja Jarvinen before coming to the UK where he resides
with handler Glynn Payne partner Karina Le Mare from the world famous
Helmlake Kennel. Glynn says "Brando is a great ambassador for the breed. He
is a delightful dog with great affection for people, he adores children. He
simply loves human contact. Highly intelligent, he is very intuitive and
totally aware of what is going on around him all of the time. He is fabulous
to show but more than anything he is an absolute pleasure to live with."

An illustrious show career to date, Brando, sired by Int. Fin. Rus. UKR S
Ch Lav Epril Bomond ex dam Fin. DK S Ch Black Hope Peppermint, is a Multi BIS
winner in Finland where he was Top Dog all breeds in 2008, he was European
Winner 08, & 09 in Dublin where he was awarded Group 3. Last month he took
the World Winner 09 title and was awarded Group 2 at the World Dog Show in
Bratislava, handled by Glynn. In the UK, this year he has acquired 9 CC's, 8
with BOB's, 2 xG1, 2xG2 & 1x G4. He was BOS in Show at Windsor Ch show.
Brando successfully gained his UK Champion title in three successive clubs
show under three breed specialist judges. He is the first overseas dog to
have won the Bulldog Club Incorporated Show which is the oldest dog club in
the world.

Glynn commented on his imminent trip to the Eukanuba World Challenge
"There is a great sense of pride in representing our country with our
national breed, the bulldog. It will be an honour to represent the UK and be
able to promote the Bulldog to a worldwide audience."

Last year the UK was represented by the notable Mike Gadsby, Jason Lynn
and their outstanding Standard Poodle, "Donny" Ch Am Ch Afterglow The Big
Tease. They endorse the Eukanuba World Challenge and say "We wish Glynn and
Brando all the best as they embark on this fantastic adventure. We are
certain they will have as wonderful a time as we did and be great ambassadors
of British dogdom. The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship show is a
world-class event, and the World Challenge competition is unlike any other.
Eukanuba truly goes above and beyond to support the purebred dog community
and this opportunity is a prime example of that."

Just recently I have looked around for a bit more knowledge on Eukanuba. Is it really that the base is made from soya? Clearly there would be other things such as meat included, but it doesn’t to me sound like a good start.
