Global DefenceTec Partners Appoints David Butler to Head US Practice

LONDON, September 20, 2011 -

Global DefenceTec Partners (GDTP), the specialist investment arm of Global Strategies Group investing in the defence and technology industries worldwide, today announced that David T. Butler has joined the firm as President of its US practice.

Mr Butler comes to GDTP from leading defence contractor L-3 Communications, where he was Senior Vice President, Business Operations.  Whilst with L-3, he led M&A activities in over 100 acquisitions and selected divestitures, and established an outstanding track record for value creation. 

In his new position, Mr Butler will be responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities in the defence and technology sectors throughout the United States, and working with prospective investors on portfolio development.

In addition to his M&A responsibilities with L-3, Mr Butler managed business risk throughout the corporation, and oversaw multiple corporate functions, including the areas of business development, planning and business integration.  Prior to joining L-3, he worked with the Lockheed Martin Corporation in senior finance roles.
