LONDON - IKIVO, the No. 1 European supplier of rich media enabling solutions, today announces that its ground breaking user experience technology has been selected by yet another leading consumer device manufacturer, Revo Technologies.
Through its partnership with Frontier Silicon, the world’s leading supplier of integrated circuits and modules for digital audio products and mobile digital TV, IKIVO is providing the ground breaking technology powering the user interface of the recently launched IKON digital radio.
This exciting new product from Revo Technologies, a leading designer and manufacturer of high quality digital audio products, is introducing a whole new way of interacting with a radio. IKON combines the benefits of a full colour 3.5″ touchscreen, icon-driven user interface, multi-standard radio capabilities and iPod and iPhone docking. It is one of only a handful digital radios that are certified by Apple for use with iPod or iPhone.
IKIVO’s Rich Media Client, the market leading user experience engine for devices with limited resources, powers the IKON user interface. Frontier Silicon has developed the interactive, graphical user interface using the powerful IKIVO user interface tool set.
“We are very excited about working with Frontier Silicon and Revo Technologies to break new grounds in consumer electronic products. By introducing a user experience with an advanced graphical animated interface on a touchscreen device, the IKON is bound to be a must-have for all radio fans. Building on our phenomenal success in providing user interfaces for mobile phones, printers and other consumer electronic products, this re-affirms IKIVO’s leadership in user experience technologies,” says Huw W. Hampson-Jones, CEO of IKIVO.
Mark Hopgood, director of marketing at Frontier Silicon, comments: “Graphical and animated touch user interfaces on handheld devices have proven to be immensely popular with consumers. With the help of IKIVO, Frontier Silicon is now able to bring this experience to the home audio market triggering manufacturers to produce highly innovative cost effective connected audio products.”
Revo Technologies’ CEO, David Baxter, adds: “We believe that IKON is the first product to truly deliver on the promise of digital radio, delivering a next generation radio experience complete with an icon-driven colour touchscreen interface, coverage of multiple radio formats, and iPod and iPhone docking.”
