Jobless Figures Set to Jump

By Economist Intelligence Unit, PRNE

Bosses and governments in Europe have avoided mass layoffs but all that
is set to change. Robin Bew of the Economist Intelligence Unit predicts a
leap in unemployment figures. Workers will be faced with the stark choice to
take lower pay or find themselves out of work.

In his monthly Global Forecast programme broadcast on
www.cantos.com Robin looks at the problems export-orientated Europe
still faces, the big cost-cutting meatures companies are under pressure to
carry out, the "loose" monetary conditions that are causing asset price
bubbles, the role of BRIC countries, and finally Barak Obama's report card -
a year into his presidency has he done enough?
