This is, of course, a hotly debated question amongst publishers today. junction, the new iPad App from publishers Werben & Verkaufen, is looking for an answer through open dialogue with their readers. As early as issue #2 of junction, the digital marketing and lifestyle app, initial ideas and trends began to emerge. junction app is free and available for download here today.

Is the iPad able to sustain readers’ excitement and interest as a digital counterpart to print? Will the tablet find its place between the reach and agility of the web and the high visual quality of print media? junction is currently discussing these questions with its audience.

junction, the as yet unknown brand, held its own for three days as the number 1 free news app in the american AppStore. The app aims to differentiate itself from both print and online. And it’s leveraging the opinions of its audience to help it do so.

Feedback from Facebook, Twitter, the AppStore and E-Mail has been analysed and implemented in issue 2. Notable changes concern the optical design, user interface and the decreased iPad memory required by the App.  The current issue is free and available for download in the AppStore. Other content includes the true costs of corporate Facebook profiles, the 3D movie business and the phenomenon of social games.
