SUN CITY, South Africa, September 7, 2010 - K2 was named Independent Software Vendor of the Year, Sept. 2, at the
Microsoft Partner Network 2010 Awards.
The Microsoft Partner Network 2010 Awards recognize partners in South
Africa that have excelled in delivering Microsoft solutions over Microsoft's
fiscal year 2009.
"We are just thrilled and honored by this award from Microsoft," said
K2's Freddy Jonker, regional director for Africa and Middle East. "We are in
the midst of our best year ever, as organizations of all sizes and types are
realizing that workflow and BPM technologies can really save time, reduce
costs and provide better information management.
"We are excited, because we hear everyday that K2 is making a significant
difference for organizations using SharePoint and other Microsoft
technologies, here in South Africa and all over the world."
K2 software delivers workflow, BPM and process-driven applications that
improve business efficiency. With easy-to-use tools, K2 applications can be
set up to automate and manage business processes - such as document approval
or inventory tracking - or pull together business processes, people,
services, information and systems into a single application that helps drive
business. Then, what's been built can be used like building blocks to
assemble new applications.
"We started small - more than 10 years ago, here in South Africa - and
have grown to a global presence with more than 2,000 customers in 54
countries," said Adriaan van Wyk, K2 co-founder and CEO. "Microsoft's
recognition of our partnership endorses the ongoing value we provide to joint
customers who are relying on us more than ever to deliver business-critical
solutions that streamline the organization."
This award for K2 follows recognition by Microsoft's Stephen Elop,
president business division, at this year's Worldwide Partner conference in
Washington, D.C.
"[K2] really focused on the integration between unified communications,
collaborative content management, and traditional business processes," Elop
said in his keynote address. "And as a result, they're standing up above the
crowd, they're having amazing success."
