La Scolca, Italian dream: Gavi dei Gavi new logo "GdeiG"

GAVI, Italy, March 9, 2011 - La Scolca celebrated its 90th anniversary at the start of the New Year
and looks forward to the future. And in the spirit of renovation that
characterizes La Scolca, the winery unveils a new image for its famous "Black
Label" Gavi dei Gavi.

Gavi is the name of a little town on the Apennines mountains, located in
Piedmont near Liguria, where the famous white and dry wine has taken its
name. Thanks to La Scolca who began his production of Gavi 90 years ago, it
obtained DOC (Denomination of Origin Controlled) in 1974 and DOCG
(Denomination of Origin Controlled and Guaranteed) in 1998.

Years before the Gavi DOC, La Scolca invented a particular and great
Gavi: Gavi dei Gavi (R), a registered trademark in Europe since 1969 and in
the U.S. since 1971, best known as "Black Label".

This year La Scolca presents the new logo, "GdeiG", (view GdeiG logo:

The commercial success of Gavi dei Gavi (R), often led to the market
inventing a similar name (for example Gavi di Gavi). The abbreviation "Gavi
di Gavi" has no value unless defined as "Gavi DOCG del Comune di Gavi", which
means: "grapes that create Gavi DOCG wine, originated from vineyards located
in the Municipality of Gavi".

A high quality wine can only be made from grapes grown in places where
they find harmony, better soil, climate, altitude and exposure in order to
obtain the full flavors and aromas; such as La Scolca "Gavi dei Gavi".

The "GdeiG" is a surprising wine, balancing delicate
contrasts; although a white wine, its features are closer to those of a great
red. Gavi dei Gavi, "GdeiG" (R) is noble but still unique; well known among
the jet-setters and royalty, but still deeply tied to its origins.
