“The main make up obstacle I always hear backstage at festivals is ‘How do I keep my make up on and stay protected in various weather conditions?’ and ‘How do I look glamorous and festival cool no matter my age?’”
Here is a step by step guide to create a popular festival look…
While a shower and hand basin is a luxury, try drenching you’re skin in MAC Fix +, it’s a water spritzer with lots of luxurious ingredients to revitalise and rehydrate skin. While the skin is wet use a MAC Wipe to cleanse and exfoliate the face.
Use MAC Complete Comfort Cream to moisturise the face really working it into your skin. Foundation will never sit well on dry skin.
After a minute apply MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50 to the face. This will aid to keep your foundation on, even out uneven skin texture and most importantly, protect against sun damage.
MAC Pro Longwear Foundation is best for festivals due to its longwearing properties, allowing skin to remain fresh and natural looking. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer is to cover any blemishes or hide dark circles from late nights!
To set the foundation dust MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder all over the face.
Bronze the skin by blending MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Powder in Medium Deep under the cheek bones and up to the temples.
If you like the dewy look apply MAC Lustre drops in Gold Rush across you’re cheekbones, or for darker skin tones try MAC Margin Powder blush.
Apply MAC Coffee Eye Pencil all around the inside of the eye and smudge it outwards into the lash line with a #219 Pencil Brush.
Then apply a small amount of MAC Paint Pot in Constructivist across the lid and into the socket using a #224 Tapered blending brush, and then blend it underneath the eye. Apply MAC Wood Winked Eyeshadow over the centre of the lid to give a high metallic sheen.
Curl the lashes and apply a generous layer of MAC False Lash mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
Line the lips with MAC Oak Lip Pencil. It’s a lovely nude brown tone. Add MAC Lush Amber Lipstick across the lips; try pressing it in with your fingertips for a natural look.
Dean Rudd M·A·C Pro Trainer has taken inspiration from this year’s decadent Virgin Media Louder Lounge theme of Rococo, developing four gorgeous looks to recreate on celebrity and VIP guests. The bespoke designs include Smoke-Coco, Love Rococo, Rock-Coco as well as an intricate thespian-inspired Golden Leaf creation, giving guests an instant festival beauty fix with a twist of baroque glamour.
These are a few of the many options that the M.A.C Artists will be on hand to apply - guests can be as creative as they want! M.A.C will have twelve dedicated makeup stations in the tent where visitors can come to get the ultimate festival beauty look!
