Offering 4G/LTE services to Compete Against OTT Players
RICHARDSON, Texas and BARCELONA, Spain, February 14, 2011 - Converged Solutions provider Mavenir Systems has announced that it has
successfully enabled mobile operators to launch Mobile Cloud Services over
3G, 4G, WiFi and broadband access using its Converged Voice, Video and
Messaging Solutions. This innovative approach is helping mobile operators to
broaden their service offerings and expand their service horizons to
effectively compete with over the top (OTT) players.
Mavenir's Mobile Cloud Services strategy is enabling multiple mobile
operators across North America, Europe and Asia to launch a range of new
services including Voice over WiFi, Mobile Video and GSMA Rich Communications
Suite (RCS) services, which are experiencing significant consumer demand.
These operators are able to offer a variety of mobile services over their 3G,
LTE and WiFi devices, expanding their reach and address growing competition
from the likes of Skype or Google Voice.
Moving forward, these operators are well positioned with Mavenir-enabled
Mobile Cloud services to offer Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and LTE Messaging
solutions as capable devices come online. A Tier 1 customer in particular is
deploying Mavenir Converged Messaging solution for OMA Converged IP Messaging
(CPM) as part of their Mobile Cloud, establishing a messaging services
framework for text, multimedia and content delivery across SMS, MMS, SIP and
REST based clients, applications and devices.
The introduction of open REST APIs will allow mobile operators to market
their branded services over the web or to allow third parties to develop
innovative applications and delivery content. Mavenir has also introduced new
real-time capabilities such as user generated content storage, 'any to any'
message transformation, SMS, MMS routing, spam control and transcoding all as
part of operator-owned Mobile Cloud Services, ready to offer a compelling
user experience against the OTT players.
"It really is about providing mobile operators with the innovative tools
to take advantage of changing market and technology factors," said Pardeep
Kohli, president and CEO of Mavenir. "Mavenir's comprehensive Converged
Voice, Video and Messaging solutions have a reputation for delivering new
services and new business models which will generate new revenue streams to
forward-thinking mobile operators, while reducing the costs associated with
delivering and supporting pre-existing, legacy applications."
CEO Pardeep Kohli will speak at RCR's Mobile Broadband Conference on
Monday, February 14 at 3:00pm in Hall 2, Sala D. He will join fellow industry
visionaries from, among others, Verizon Wireless, Telefonica and Juniper
Networks discussing innovation and opportunity in Mobile Broadband.
At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Mavenir will be showcasing Mobile
Cloud Services including Mobile VoIP, RCS, Mobile Video calling, and an
industry-first Mobile Video Conferencing. In addition, Mavenir will also
showcase an open network messaging application using REST API's to deliver
services. Contact email@example.com to set up appointments or visit at
