Mega Queues as Over 800 Shoppers Grab a Bargain at the Currys Megastore Grand Opening Leicester Fosse

Over 800 Shoppers From the Region Fill the Retail Park

LONDON, September 16, 2010 - Currys, the UK's leading electrical retailer, threw open it's doors
at 6am last Friday to a massive queue of over 800 eager shoppers ready to
grab a bargain at the official launch of its brand new Megastore in Fosse
Shopping Park, Leicester. The mega launch saw huge discounts including a 40
inch LG TV going for as little as GBP299.

Providing the best of Currys brands under one roof, over 800 customers
made a dash over the threshold to grab deals on the widest range of
electrical goods from both Currys that included TVs, digital cameras, laptops
and washing machines from brands such as Samsung and Panasonic.

Customers from across the region, including some who had camped out over
night, flocked to the store at the Fosse Shopping Park store early that
morning. The queues continued to build throughout the morning as music
greeted those who waited to experience the new store, and enjoy massive
opening day discounts.

First in the queue was Steve Sanson from Coalville, who had queued from
7pm Thursday night to make sure he got his hands on the 40 LG inch TV, as
there were only 300 available at this price. Despite having to be in work at
7.30 that morning, Steve commented, "It was worth the wait!" - all 300 TVs
had been sold within an hour of the store opening.

The new Megastore store offers customers a "hands-on" product experience
coupled with extended product ranges, which is designed to meet all
technology needs. The Store also has a huge selection of interactive "play
tables" allowing customers to pick up, turn on and test out a wide range of
products before they purchase including premium brands such as Apple, Bose.

Anthony Partington, Store Director, comments: "It's great to see such a
big turnout today, I'm really pleased with how our opening morning has gone.
The new Currys Megastore in Leicester Fosse offers shoppers a great range of
consumer electronics. The Grand Launch Weekend will provide customers with

shopping at the number one destination for electrical products in the area."
