AMSTERDAM - Mobileye N.V., a global pioneer and leader in vision-based driver assistance and collision avoidance systems, announced today the expansion of its aftermarket product line with the introduction of the new Mobileye C2-170. The new product is a driver-safety system developed specifically for aftermarket applications and can be easily fitted in any passenger and commercial vehicles.

The Mobileye C2-170 is a modern, comprehensive, single-camera-based safety solution for accident prevention and mitigation, which has received the prestigious Fleet Safety Forum Award for Excellence 2009, sponsored by Brake - the UK Road Safety Charity - in the Fleet Safety Product category (via Mobileye’s distributor Eyedrive Systems).

Based on Mobileye’s acclaimed vehicle and lane detection technologies, the new product employs a premium-quality, high visibility display unit, which features clear, powerful display icons and comes with customization options.

A three-in-one safety solution for accident prevention and mitigation, the Mobileye C2-170 provides drivers with warnings against collision with a vehicle ahead (both on highways and urban roads), unintended lane-departure and insufficient distance-keeping.

“In the next months, the Mobileye C2-170 will become Mobileye’s aftermarket flagship product,” said Isaac Litman, Mobileye’s VP Sales and Marketing. The new product joins Mobileye’s line of award winning aftermarket collision avoidance and driver assistance products, which is also the only aftermarket driver safety solution offering the three essential accident-prevention warnings in one unit. The Mobileye C2-170 includes a camera located on the front windshield inside the vehicle and utilizes Mobileye’s unique artificial capabilities to detect and measure the distance to vehicles and lane markings, providing the driver with timely alerts in order to prevent possible collisions.
