Increasing Number of Customers and Partners Embrace Oracle AIA

Oracle OpenWorld, San Francisco, CA – September 22, 2008

News Facts

Since the debut of Oracle Application Integration Architecture (www.oracle.com/applications/oracle-application-integration-architecture.html) (AIA) in May 2007, Oracle has continued to roll out strategic pre-built integrations with both industry specific and cross application business processes.
With these innovations, Oracle enables users to benefit from specific integrations that help solve complex business issues with richer functionality, increased flexibility and adaptability across Oracle applications with less risk, easier integration of core processes and lower maintenance costs.
Oracle is committed to the development, maintenance and support of Oracle AIA packaged integrations. Oracle supports these solutions like all of Oracle’s other products – thus minimizing customer implementation risk.
Oracle AIA offerings released this summer include Oracle’s Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Integration Pack for the Oracle E-Business Suite - Design to Release (www.oracle.com/applications/agile-plm-integration-pack-for-ebs-design-to-release-data-sheet.pdf) , Siebel CRM Integration Pack for Oracle Order Management - Order to Cash (www.oracle.com/applications/crm-integration-pack.html) , Oracle CRM On Demand Integration Pack to Siebel CRM and Demantra Integration Pack for Siebel CRM Consumer Goods. Also released this past summer, Oracle® AIA Foundation Pack 2.1 helps organizations create custom process integrations across existing applications with built in flexibility, configurability and extensibility.
Using Oracle AIA Foundation Pack’s standards-based framework, IT organizations can create a common vocabulary across applications, enabling application interoperability while lowering overall IT infrastructure costs through a shared Enterprise Business Service library. Customers using Foundation Pack expect to achieve greater adaptability of business processes for faster innovation and improved competitive advantage.
Coming soon are industry specific versions of Oracle AIA Foundation Pack for insurance (www.oracle.com/industries/financial_services/oracle-insurance-integration-architecture.html) and utilities industries. These new Oracle AIA Foundation Packs are designed to provide insurance and utilities customers with industry-specific enterprise business objects and services, accelerating the integration of key insurance and utilities business processes.
Additionally, Oracle and Satyam Computers also announced a co-development agreement to build Oracle AIA Process Integration Packs for Logistics Service Providers. This co-development effort aims to productize “best practice” integrated business processes with the delivery of the following Process Integration Packs:
Quote and Order Management PIP: Provides the ability to integrate front office order capturing with back office fulfillment functions
Financial Management PIP: addresses financial settlement business processes
Driver Management PIP: supports driver HR data management and fleet execution processes.
Today’s announcement supports Oracle’s strategy of delivering complete, integrated and end-to-end product suites on an open, standards-based middleware and database architecture. Oracle’s approach helps customers to simplify computing environments, lower cost and risk, and provides greater choice and flexibility.
Oracle Customer Services (www.oracle.com/support/index.html) provides complete coverage of Oracle AIA with the world's leading portfolio of IT lifecycle-based service and support offerings.  Oracle Customer Services is focused on helping customers maximize their success with Oracle solutions while lowering the total cost of ownership through continued advances in providing personalized, proactive support and knowledge management capabilities.

Oracle Application Integration Architecture (AIA)

Oracle AIA is a pre-built, open and complete architecture for orchestrating agile, user-centric business processes across enterprise applications.
Powered by Oracle Fusion Middleware (www.oracle.com/products/middleware/index.html) , Oracle AIA’s application independent framework enables organizations to utilize the applications of their choice to create composite business processes unique to their business on a flexible service-oriented architecture. As a result, Oracle AIA helps turn rigid IT landscapes into flexible, integrated environments that can adapt and scale more quickly to business needs.

“This series of process integration packs for the logistics service provider industry is the second set of integration packs that we’re co-developing with Oracle, after the successful development of Agile PLM PIP integrating Agile and the Oracle E-Business Suite,” said Sriram Papani, Senior Vice President, Satyam Computers. “These solutions are designed with global customers in mind and help IT Services providers, like Satyam, rapidly configure end-to-end business processes using best–practice SOA implementation methodologies and reference architectures to provide quick ROI to our joint customers.”
“With these new AIA products Oracle continues to provide customers and partners with additional options to maximize the value of their applications and deployments,” said Oracle Vice President of Application Development and Product Strategy for AIA Jose Lazares. “These process integrations are designed to easily extend and evolve to meet business changes, allowing organizations to respond to customer and market requirements with greater agility and flexibility without added complexity.”
