Eesti Energia Goes Live on Oracle Utilities; Rodger E. Smith Heads Oracle Tax and Utilities Global Business Unit
Redwood Shores, Calif. – Sept. 7, 2011
Eesti Energia, an Estonian state-owned energy company, has gone live with Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing and Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management in anticipation of a deregulated market expected in 2013.
Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing forms the basis of a new customer self-service platform that enables the utility to bring new products and services to market quicker—reducing delivery time from months to weeks. Integrated with Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing, the Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management application provides a meter-to-cash process that supports both current meter and smart meter deployments.
Eesti Energia selected the Oracle products in 2008.
Rodger E. Smith Heads Oracle Tax and Utilities Global Business Unit
Oracle has named Rodger E. Smith senior vice president and general manager for the Oracle Tax and Utilities Global Business Unit. In this position, Mr. Smith leads the global business unit’s solution groups, strategic planning, product development, sales, service and support.
Mr. Smith is the former president of Enterprise Management Solutions (EMS), the management consulting division of Black & Veatch.
