Oracle to Demonstrate Commitment to Utilities Industry at DistribuTECH 2011

Oracle will demonstrate its leadership and vision at DistribuTECH 2011 (www.distributech.com/index.html) in San Diego, Calif., February 1-3.
Brad Williams, vice president of product strategy, Oracle Utilities and Alan Dulgeroff, director of asset management, San Diego Gas & Electric, will speak during “Achieving Added Value from Smart Grid Operations and Asset Management Data” on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. PST, as well as during the “Advanced Distribution Management Systems in a Smart Grid” session on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. PST.
Oracle Utilities’ Park Armstrong and Tom Eyford, both solution architects for Oracle Utilities, will speak during “Common Information Model (CIM)-enabled Enterprise Service Bus Facilitates Enterprise Information Management and Supports Data Management in a Smart Grid World” on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. PST.
Attendees can visit the Oracle booth (1300) to learn more about how Oracle's distribution management system can:
Leverage existing advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) investments; optimize and control networks in real time; provide market-leading fault location, isolation and supply restoration (FLISR) capabilities; integrate with any supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system via open standards; improve information management, security and information technology (IT)/operational technology (OT) governance; and support distributed intelligence, including microgrid support over time.
In addition to viewing Oracle's next-generation distribution management capabilities, attendees can meet with Oracle's solution specialists and experience demonstrations that can also support smart grid challenges including:
Outage Management; Meter Data Management; Mobile Workforce Management; Project Portfolio Management; Work and Asset Management; Spatial Data Management; Technology and Applications Integration; and Java.
