Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon and 'Crazy Heart's' T Bone Burnett and Director Scott Cooper Also Wear Piaget

LOS ANGELES, March 9, 2010 - To help ensure that "The Hurt Locker's" Jeremy Renner looked every bit
the leading man for the 82nd annual Academy Awards, Piaget pulled out all the
stops for the long-time friend of the brand. The renowned Swiss jeweler and
watchmaker flew in its new Altiplano 43 Automatic timepiece direct from the
workshop in Geneva. Renner is the first man to ever wear the watch, which
just set a record as the world's thinnest automatic timepiece and the world's
thinnest automatic movement. Already being heralded as the 'little black
dress' of fine timepieces, the new white gold Altiplano 43 with a
hand-engraved guilloche dial was the perfect finishing touch for Renner's
Oscar look, slipping easily and elegantly beneath the sleeve of his tuxedo.

For what was arguably the biggest night of his life, Jeremy Renner
brought his mother, Valerie Clearely, as his date. Piaget was proud to help
get her red carpet-ready by dressing her diamonds for the evening. The firm's
newest Limelight Jazz Party earrings, crafted in white gold and set with
diamonds and black spinels, beautifully complimented Piaget's Limelight
pendant set with 136 diamonds and black onyx. On her wrist, a dazzling Piaget
Protocole XLS watch in white gold, paved with more than 650 diamonds.

No stranger to the red carpet, Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon
also turned to Piaget for Oscar-worthy timepieces. The multi-platinum singer
and star of "Precious" chose Piaget's newest Limelight Jazz Party cuff watch
in white gold and set with 591 brilliant-cut diamonds and 3 pear-shaped
diamond drops. Mr. Cannon opted for Piaget's Altiplano Double Jeu in white
gold and set with 68 diamonds. Piaget was also the timepiece of choice for
two men responsible for the Oscar-nominated film, "Crazy Heart". Both T Bone
Burnett, who won the Academy Award for Best Music (Original Song), and Scott
Cooper
, the film's Director, chose Piaget Altiplano watches to accent their
Oscar black tie looks.
