Qedis Invests in Bright Futures!
By Qedis, PRNEWednesday, May 26, 2010
LONDON, May 27, 2010 - Qedis, the Next Generation management consultancy, has been celebrating
its success in helping the student members of Bright Futures gain an
introduction to the business world!
Qedis joined Bright Futures as an investor in late-2009 but soon spotted
an opportunity to help them. The student society, which has a presence in
over 40 top UK universities - including UCL, LSE, Warwick, and Oxford - is
helping students make informed career choices and develop skills sought by
employers, by encouraging peers to support one another as well as exposing
them to top graduate employers.
As the Sunday Times' 4th best small company to work for in 2010, Qedis
felt that it could bring a lot to Bright Futures; so our consultants came up
with a programme to do just that - 'The Q Factor', a programme where Qedis
staff went to each university once a month to hold informal workshops with
the students aimed at developing a number of key skills, and culminating in
the final competition - 'The Q Factor Finale', where the students presented a
case study to Qedis Directors!
Whilst lacking the scathing opinions of Simon Cowell, 'The Q Factor' was
a cleverly designed blend of mentoring and skills development, which exposed
students to Qedis and the consulting sector. It helped them to develop their
presentation, events management and business skills in a way that former
Bright Futures Business Development Manager David Calleja-Gera called
"innovative and refreshing".
Having been so well-received at LSE, UCL, Loughborough and Nottingham,
Qedis is aiming to expand its involvement with Bright Future to other top
universities over the coming year! Said Will Sargeant, Project Lead, "The
programme has given the students a real feel for the challenges and
expectations of the consulting industry and the business world. We have seen
a marked and very pleasing development within each of the students
culminating in each team presenting at the Q Factor Finale held in London.
This has also been a rewarding experience for our own Analysts who have
learnt new skills through the mentoring process and seen their efforts make a
real difference. 'The Q Factor' approach has been an all-round success!"
Qedis is committed to making a difference to the lives of our clients,
people and community, and is proud to have done so when working with Bright
Futures.
