LEEDS, England, June 29, 2011 -

Two Yorkshire businessmen are leading a 180-mile charity bike
ride to raise funds for hospices in Leeds and York.

Ian Harris (CEO) and John Readman (New Business Director) of href="www.searchlaboratory.com/">search engine marketing
specialists, Search Laboratory, came up with the idea following
two close family tragedies.

In all, 15 participants will take place in their gruelling ‘Way
of the Roses’ bike ride on 08 July 2011.  They will start at
Morecambe on the west coast of England and ride to Bridlington on
the East coast.

All the money raised will go to St Gemma’s Hospice, Leeds and St
Leonard’s Hospice, York.

St Gemma’s is of particular significance to Ian Harris as he
lost his sister in September 2008 to Melanoma (skin cancer). Ian
said:

“The staff at St Gemma’s looked after Claire incredibly well in
her last days.  They are excellent at what they do. They made
her comfortable and looked after us as a family. They are the
nicest people and they do such a fantastic job under such difficult
circumstances.”

For John Readman, St Leonard’s in York played a major part in
his life in 2001:

“I lost my dad to a brain tumour; the majority of the last year
of his life was spent under excellent care from the staff at St
Leonard’s. I cannot thank them enough for the support and care they
gave both my father and my family during this time.”

In order to keep both hospices in a position where they can help
more families through difficult times, Ian and John (along with the
other thirteen cyclists) will be raising money by cycling the
traditional ‘Way of the Roses’ route, making a detour at Leeds on
the Saturday morning to visit St Gemma’s and then a second detour
on Saturday afternoon at York to visit St Leonard’s.

Search Laboratory is sponsoring all the kits and the minibus
(for the stragglers) which is being provided by PJR Self-Drive. The
First Aid Kits (along with the special cream for the chafing) are
being provided by href="www.raymondchall.com/">www.raymondchall.com,
