LONDON -

- UK Public Vote for Local Favourite

G.I. Joe superstar and budding fashion designer Sienna Miller has been named as the UK’s favourite celebrity magazine cover girl after over 1,500 people voted in the national poll called ‘The Maggies’, which celebrates the greatest magazine covers of the year.

Sienna clinched first place with 33% of the votes whilst the favourite, Angelina Jolie (29%), and her arch-nemesis Jennifer Aniston (24%) fought it out for second and third positions, respectively. Cameron Diaz bombed with just 14% of votes and polled in fourth place.

Currently, four hot male contenders, David Beckham, Daniel Craig, Jude Law and Brad Pitt, are battling it out for the honour of being named Favourite Cover Man of the Year.

The public can vote by visiting www.themaggies.co.uk

And with the odds at 3 to 1, the question is, “Are we likely to see another UK winner?”

About The Maggies

The Maggies is a national poll to celebrate and award the best magazine covers of the past year. The inaugural awards are voted for by the public via themaggies.co.uk and is an initiative of iSUBSCRiBE, the UK’s leading magazine and newspaper subscription site.

The call for nominations opened in August, after which a panel of celebrity judges, including twice-voted ‘Magazine Editor of the Year’ Peter Jackson, Dancing on Ice’s Linda Lusardi and Heart Radio DJ Toby Anstis, will narrow down the covers into a short list.

The covers will then be put to a public vote on 14 September to award an overall winner and individual category winners, which will be announced on 13 October.

The categories include Celebrity & Entertainment, Fashion, Lifestyle, Sports & Men’s, Business, News & Current Affairs, Specialist & Hobbies and Trade.

The public will be incentivised to vote for their favourite magazine cover with a reward of a GBP2.50 iSUBSCRiBE gift voucher - a stark contrast to other public polls, in which participants pay to vote. The voucher may be redeemed against iSUBSCRiBE’s range of over 1,200 magazine and newspaper subscriptions. In addition, GBP1 from every subscription sold using the iSUBSCRiBE gift vouchers will be donated by iSUBSCRiBE to Rays of Sunshine.
