LONDON, July 12, 2010 - Intent on boosting revenue growth potential, telecommunication companies
are tapping into Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications services. The
upcoming Frost & Sullivan's analyst briefing aims to place Telcos within the
context of the M2M eco-system, and identify their unique role in the current
M2M set-up and future Internet of Things evolution.

During the briefing, Yiru Zhong, Frost & Sullivan Analyst for ICT in
Europe, will look at M2M services from the Telco perspective, identifying
some key potential opportunities. The presentation will take place on
Wednesday, 28 July 2010, at 16.00 BST.
"It has been a year since the flurry of Tier 1 M2M market entries were
announced. In early 2009, Orange announced that it had acquired Mobile and
Data as part of its M2M capabilities. In April, T-mobile revealed plans for
smart metering services with Echelon, and in July, Vodafone unveiled its
global M2M platform," says Yiru Zhong. "Vodafone has revealed that, as of May
2010, they have installed 1m M2M devices in the UK. As so many Telcos have
entered the fray over the course of the year, providing M2M services with
different approaches and target markets, we believe there are enough examples
to support analysis of some trends in the Telco approach towards enabling M2M
operations."
The briefing will benefit telecommunication companies, M2M service &
technology providers, software application providers, device manufacturers,
and also smartcard vendors.
